B'Bugia Beach

B’ Bugia is a seaside locality in the south of Malta. At a certain point in time the government of Malta decided to invest in this locality which has the only sandy beach in the south of Malta to make it look better. This government project was awarded to Derek Garden Centre. The main idea was to create a paved garden right next to the beach so as to provide a place where families could go for a walk.

Derek Garden Centre were entrusted to supply soil planting of mature palm trees, shrub trees and hedges. Hardy varieties of trees and palms were recommended by Derek Garden Centre's team so as to resist the tough winds and sea water. Nowadays the beach still looks as good as when it was created. There are paved areas and benches from where one can enjoy a light summer breeze in the shade of the swaying palm leaves.
