The Yolo Wonder Pepper is a classic, popular bell pepper variety known for its blocky, thick-walled fruits and high resistance to tobacco mosaic virus. It produces sweet, crisp peppers that start out dark green and mature into a vibrant, rich red color when fully ripe

  • 🌱 Sowing: from February to April in a protected seedbed or warm greenhouse (maintaining temperatures around 20–24°C for successful germination).
  • ☀️ Exposure: in full Sun ☀️, requiring plenty of direct sunlight and warmth to develop robust growth and transition properly from green to red.
  • 💧 Watering: regular and moderate throughout the growing season, keeping the soil evenly moist while avoiding waterlogging at the roots.
  • 🌿 Soil & Care: fertile, loose, and well-draining soil enriched with organic compost. The compact, bushy plants generally stand well on their own, but staking can help support heavy loads of fruit.
  • ✂️ Harvesting: from July to October, picking the peppers either when they are green (for an earlier harvest) or waiting until they turn fully red for maximum sweetness.
  • ❄️ End of Cycle: annual summer-to-autumn crop that completes its lifecycle as cooler autumn weather and frost arrive.
