The Zucchino Nano Verde Milano (Milan Green Bush Zucchini) is a classic, highly popular Italian heirloom summer squash variety. It produces compact, bushy plants that do not develop long, trailing vines, making it ideal for small gardens, raised beds, or container growing

  • 🌱 Sowing: from April to June (directly outdoors in warm soil, or started in protected seedbeds in early spring for an earlier harvest).
  • ☀️ Exposure: in full Sun ☀️, as it requires abundant direct sunlight to ensure high productivity and healthy growth.
  • 💧 Watering: regular and frequent, keeping the soil consistently moist but without creating water stagnation; avoid wetting the leaves to prevent fungal issues like powdery mildew.
  • 🌿 Soil & Care: fertile, loose, and well-draining soil enriched with organic compost. Because it has a bush habit rather than a vining one, it takes up less space, but spacing plants about 80-100 cm apart is recommended for good airflow.
  • ✂️ Harvesting: from June to September (continuously throughout the summer). Harvest the zucchini when they are relatively small (about 15-20 cm long) to encourage the plant to keep producing new fruits.
  • ❄️ End of Cycle: annual summer crop that completes its productive cycle with the arrival of cooler autumn weather.
